José Luis Juárez
José Luis Juárez is a Mexican filmmaker and photographer who began his training more than fifteen years ago, studying Digital Art and Animation at the Monterrey Institute of Technology in Mexico. He later decided to put these disciplines on hold and embark on a journey with the intention of exploring the unknown world outside the classroom. During this journey, he had his first exposure to film in San Juan Ixtaltepec, in the Sierra Juárez region of Oaxaca, where he worked as a sound engineer on the short documentary El sueño de San Juan, produced by the Polish National Film School.
Enamored with the idea of filmmaking, he visited Poland and fortuitously discovered a deep interest in this discipline. He participated as an assistant in several short films, including Czarna Gora (Black Mountain), directed by Joaquín del Paso, and Furioso, directed by Karma Fryk. These experiences allowed him to gain a close understanding of the collective work behind audiovisual productions, which strengthened his interest and motivation to continue his filmmaking training. In 2009, she enrolled at the National Film School in Łódź (PWSFTviT). During her time there, she collaborated with artists such as Tushar Prakash (director), Pawel Tarasiewic (director/D.O.P.), Lucy Pawlak (director/writer), Dominika Ozarowska (director/writer), and San Lee (D.O.P.).
