Rotante

Rotante was a project that proposed a digital exhibition format in which each month featured the work of a different artist through solo exhibitions, which inspired its name. The project was conceived by Banana Contemporary for Galería L in 2021 as a direct response to the challenges brought by the global COVID-19 pandemic.

In a context marked by lockdowns, the suspension of in-person activities, and a profound transformation of social interaction, Rotante emerged as an alternative, flexible, and accessible space that sought to adapt to this “new normal” and keep alive the circulation of ideas, images, and emotions that shape the contemporary artistic experience.

The project took place from June to December 2021 and brought together artists from different generations and regions of the country: Amauta García (Puebla), Pablo Tut (Yucatán), Ruth Aragón (Nuevo León), Oscar Formaccio (Puebla), Víctor Morales (Oaxaca), Nina Fiocco (Italy/Mexico), and Anais Vasconcelos (Baja California).
