Stijn D'Hondt

Stijn D’Hondt is a Belgian visual artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Sint-Lucas Ghent. His practice spans advertising, creative direction, and the creation of visual artworks, often informed by his travels around the world. Through these journeys, he seeks to build emotional connections across borders, using shared human experiences as his primary language.

He is the co-founder of Heren Loebas, a creative studio he established with Peter Van de Sijpe, dedicated to crafting thoughtful, high-quality narratives that amplify the power of stories. Stijn’s artistic work explores themes of life and death through the use of color, offering spaces of dignity, reflection, and honor for human processes. He is deeply interested in developing socially engaged projects that foster love and celebrate its diversity in a world often divided by prejudice and cultural taboos.

His work has earned several distinctions, including the Henry van de Velde Awards (Gold Award), Belgian Corporate Video Festival, and De Standaard Solidariteitsprijs (2018), among others. He currently lives between Belgium and Mexico City, where he is represented by Banana Contemporary and is developing Artbeats, a project that explores the poetic language behind the heartbeat.
